The Learning Curve...

Ok...well, I'm still learning. Trying to figure out some way to list my favorite links on the side. Hell, I'm still trying to figure out how to link to a site within the post...hopefully this will work: click here to visit Dawn's web site. Sheesh, I hope that worked. Once I figure this out I'll start posting more often.

A HUGE THANK YOU needs to be sent out to all the wonderful registered voters of Dekalb County for voting for Denise Majette (rather than against Cynthia McKinney)

In other news of interest: The CD of the Buffy musical episode, 'Once More With Feeling' will be released Sept. 24.

Primary Day here in Georgia. My sister actually gets to cast a vote against Cynthia McKinney today. She used to be my representative in Congress as well but my wife and I moved a year ago and so we now have a sane person representing us. I'm still learning here so this will be a short post.

Ok fine...so this is a blog. My thanks to Dawn of up_yours.blogspot.com for inspiring me to do this and I hope it proves to be worthwhile. I've been trying to ignore the siren call of blogging but my resistance proved futile as I find myself lost in the midst of editing a book which might never see the light of day (the motto of the unpublished author) and seeking an outlet for the eclectic thoughts I think. I'm pro-Isreali (but this won't be a warblog). My background is in theater (this won't be a theater blog either). My career is in accounting (but this definitely won't be an accountantblog...assuming there is such a thing). My passion is writing (but I'll mostly refrain from inundating unsuspecting readers with prose and poetry they've little desire to read). I love reading the sexual antics of some blogs (but doubt highly that there would be much of a market for the sexual ramblings of a married, middle-aged man). And lord knows that if I write a joke it'll probably be my first...So this is a blog in search of a raison d'etre and I will let you know when I think of one. In the meantime, welcome. My name's Peter. It's a pleaure to meet you.

In other news, I also have a 3 year old son, Andy, and my wife is currently pregnant and due early next year. Whereas my son, like Gnat, is the star my life revolves around, I can't picture myself writing Lileksian bleats (www.lileks.com/bleats/index.html)when he does that so much better than I could ever hope to. So, I will endeavor to write something worth reading (with a minimum of spelling and grammatical mistakes) and hopefully something will be typed worth remembering (or, at least, sharing with a friend or two). Please feel free to browse (once I figure out how to link you to my daily assortment of blogs) and to write, to complain or to compliment, or merely to say Hello.

My door, as they say, is always open. Welcome to my home. PseudoPsalms, by the way, is a name I thought up long ago to name my book of poetry...hey, I was in high school, what did I know? But I still love the word, even if I'm not really sure what it means.
